The present invention relates to a rotary die device for producing softcapsules, comprising a capsule forming unitfor forming a soft-capsule shell and a dosing unit for feeding a fillingmaterial into the capsule forming unit, characterized in thatthe dosing unit comprises a conveying apparatus of viscous melts and aportioner, wherein the portioner is connected at an endthereof to the conveying apparatus of viscous melts and is arranged in afilling wedge with a section in such a way that filling materialfrom the portioner reaches the location of the capsule filling directly or bymeans of one or more channels having a length ofat most 30 mm. Using said device, high-viscosity filling materials can befilled and thus novel soft capsules can be madeaccessible.
