A method for producing a frozen item by using a liquid cooling freezing method, in which the frequency of replenishment of freezing solvent can be lessened and any generation of alcohol odor can be prevented and an apparatus therefor. The frozen item producing apparatus (1) comprises a freezing chamber (2) and, provided therein, a freezing tank (3) accommodating a freezing solvent (30) in which an item to be frozen is immersed and frozen gas blowing means (4) for blowing a gas of 0°C or below onto the item frozen by the freezing tank (3) so as to remove any freezing solvent adhering to the frozen item and transfer means (5) for lifting the frozen item after immersion in the freezing solvent (30) of the freezing tank (3) from the freezing tank (3) and transferring the item within the freezing chamber (2) so as to attain the removal of the adhering freezing solvent by the gas blowing means (4).
