The present invention relates to a topical eye formulation comprising flavone congener(s), for sex steroid deficient ocular surface disorders due to the dysfunction of lacrimal, Meibomian, Harderian, Krauz, Wolfring glands and goblet cells causing ocular surface inflammation, red eye, infection, dry eye, visual impairment, hyperemia, pain, corneal disorders, uveitis, panopthalmitis, and other age related changes. Particularly, the Invention provides a topical eye formulation comprising bioflavonoid(s) as the active agent, useful for post menopausal and androgen deficient dry eye disease disorder.
