The present disclosure relates to a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus using a display unit and a method for controlling the same. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus may include a magnetic assembly, a transfer table movably installed to enter the inside of the magnetic assembly or withdraw from the inside of the magnetic assembly, and a display unit movably installed to enter the inside of the transfer table or withdraw from the inside of the magnetic assembly. The display unit may be exposed externally due to the movement of the transfer table to thus prevent damage to the display unit.본 발명은 디스플레이 유닛을 포함하는 자기공명영상장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 자기공명영상장치는 자석 어셈블리, 상기 자석 어셈블리의 내부에 진입하거나 상기 자석 어셈블리의 내부에서 진출하도록, 이동가능하게 설치되는 이송테이블 및 상기 이송테이블의 내부에 진입하거나 상기 자석 어셈블리의 내부에서 진출하도록, 이동가능하게 설치되는 디스플레이 유닛을 포함할 수 있다. 디스플레이 유닛은 이송테이블의 이동에 따라 외부로 노출되고, 그에 따라 디스플레이 유닛의 파손을 방지할 수 있다.
