The present invention relates to a bone grinder, comprising a housing (1) comprising a bone inlet and a grinding chamber, a drum-shaped cutting tool (2) rotatably mounted in the grinding chamber and a drive shaft (5) engaged with the cutting tool, the bone grinder configured to have a gearing of at least 1:1.5 between the cutting tool and the drive shaft. The gearing in the bone grinder enables manual operation without exhaustive effort which brings other advantages such as easier and more thorough cleaning.
