PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-configuration, low-cost, and high-accuracy magnetoencephalograph and a magnetoencephalographic measurement method.SOLUTION: This magnetoencephalograph is disposed with a plurality of optically pumped magnetometers 1 so as to form a helmet shape covering the head of a person to be measured. Each optically pumped magnetometer 1 is provided with a vapor cell 2 disposed nearly parallel to the surface of the head of the person to be measured, emits pump light L1 and probe light L2 by means of a pump light laser 3 and a probe light laser 7 to a direction nearly perpendicular to the surface of the head of the person to be measured and directed to the head of the person to be measured, makes the probe light L2 incident on the vapor cell 2, and reflects the probe light L2 to a direction nearly perpendicular to the surface of the head of the person to be measured and separated from the head of the person to be measured by a mirror 10.
