The present invention relates to a process for the decontamination of a surface (30) of a preform (10) made of thermoplastic material comprising a hollow body (12) provided with a neck (14), the decontamination process comprising at least: - a step (a) of a treatment consisting in depositing, by condensation of the hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) on the surface (30) of at least the neck (14) of the preform (10) - a step (b) of the evaporation of a part of the condensate (32) of hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) and - a step (c) of irradiation, which consists in irradiating at least the surface (30) of the neck (14) of the preform (10) with at least an ultraviolet radiation (uv) in order to activate the hydrogen peroxide (h2o2).Linvention concerne un procédé de décontamination dune surface (30) externe dune préforme (10) en matière thermoplastique comportant un corps (12) creux muni dun col (14), ledit procédé de décontamination comportant successivement au moins :- une étape (a) de traitement consistant à déposer par condensation du peroxyde dhydrogène (H2O2) sur la surface (30) externe dau moins le col (14) de la préforme (10)- une étape (b) dévaporation dune partie du condensat (32) de peroxyde dhydrogène (H2O2) et- une étape (c) dirradiation consistant à irradier au moins la surface (30) externe du col (14) de la préforme (10) avec au moins un rayonnement ultraviolet (UV) pour activer le peroxyde dhydrogène (H2O2).
