PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect that normal measurement is not being performed by a thermo-couple embedded in the mold of a continuous casting facility.SOLUTION: In an in-mold temperature control device of a continuous casting facility, when a temperature detected by a thermo-couple embedded in the mold 140 is within a prescribed range of temperature, a temperature change amount |&Dgr;t| that is variation of the temperature detected by the thermo-couple per unit time (one sampling period) is determined to be a prescribed value or more. When the temperature change amount |&Dgr;t| is a prescribed value or more, the thermo-couple is determined to be an abnormal thermo-couple. A temperature at a position where the abnormal thermo-couple not performing a normal measurement exists is derived using a temperature detected by a thermo-couple of which height in the mold 140 is similar to the abnormal thermo-couple among temperatures normally detected by other thermo-couples.
