PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which is excellent in diffusibility of urine or the like and in which lateral leakage hardly occurs.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 has a liquid permeable top sheet 2, a liquid impermeable back sheet 3, and an absorbent laminate 4 provided between them. The absorbent laminate 4 has a back and forth direction y and a width direction x, an upper side absorbent layer 5, and a lower side absorbent layer 7 from the side of a top sheet 2. The lower side absorbent layer 7 has an opening 8 extending in the back and forth direction y, whereas in the upper side absorbent layer 5, an almost V-shaped notch is formed in a front side edge 6.
