To solve the following problem: in a gas generator for improving water quality, when a channel is branched into multiple channels and simultaneously gases are discharged, it is difficult to control a gas flow rate of each of a plurality of connected discharge nozzles due to the influence of load pressure differences among the plurality of discharge nozzles, which results in the occurrence of difference in gas concentrations in water areas of the discharge nozzles.SOLUTION: A gas generator 1 for supplying one or a plurality of water tanks 45, 46 with a gas for improving water quality includes: a gas generating part 2； a plurality of gas discharge nozzles 6, 7 connected to the gas generating part through respective branched gas passages 13； discharge selector valves 3, 4, 5 for opening and closing the gas passages for each gas discharge nozzle； and a controller 8 for controlling the opening and closing for each gas discharge nozzle.
