The present invention provides a method with which it is possible to easily and accurately evaluate the olfaction of a subject. Specifically, the present invention provides a method for distinguishing the olfaction of a subject, the method including: a classification step for classifying the odors of a series of foods into three or more clusters based on similarity； a presentation step for presenting the odor of a food representing each of the clusters to the subject and allowing the subject to select the food brought to mind by the odor； and an evaluation step for evaluating a subject having a high correct response rate and/or a low incorrect response rate as a person who has sustained olfaction, and evaluating a subject having a low correct response rate and/or a high incorrect response rate as a person who has reduced olfaction.
