PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of facilitating sufficient flap spread work to an operator.SOLUTION: An absorbent article comprises a skin side sheet 14 on a skin side which constitutes a body part, and a flap sheet 21 in which a base end area 21A is joined to the skin side sheet and an area outside the base end area constitutes a side flap. The base end area of the flap sheet includes a recess formation area where recesses 211 are formed. The skin side sheet and the flap sheet are joined in the recess formation area.
