Provided are compounds and compositions thereof that are useful as antioxidants in personal care formulations. The compounds are of the Formula I:wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 are independently H, —OH, C1-C6 alkoxy, —COOH, —COO−M+ or —O31 M+, where M+ is a sodium, potassium, or ammonium ion, wherein at least two of R1, R2, R3, R4, or R5 are —OH, and R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10, are independently H, —OH, C1-C6 alkoxy, —COOH, —COO−M+ or —O−M+ where M+ is a sodium, potassium, or ammonium ion, or a substituent of Formula II:wherein R11, R12, R13, R14,and R15are independently H, —OH, C1-C6 alkoxy, —COOH, —COO−M+ or —O−M+, where M+ is a sodium, potassium, or ammonium ion, provided that one of R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10 is a substituent of Formula II.
