The capillary element comprises a massive porous element (7) with opened porosity to store a volume of water, which is equal to 1 percent of the rated capacity of tray, and to restore the water in time as the tension of suction of the plants is increased.L'invention vise à remédier aux problèmes des bacs à réserve d'eau pour plantes. Lorsqu'il y a de l'eau, ils la fournissent avec une abondance qui ne permet pas aux plantes de s'autoréguler ； puis, lorsque le réservoir est vide, ils les privent brusquement d'eau. L'invention s'efforce de reproduire les métabolisme des plantes de la réserve dont elles disposent. Pour cela l'invention comporte un dispositif capillaire faisant monter l'eau de la réserve par un matériau poreux massif permettant de stocker au moins 1% du volume de la capacité nominale du réservoir d'eau, et de la restituer progressivement à mesure que la tension de succion des plantes augmente. Ainsi, les plantes consomment moins d'eau, et ont le temps de modifier leur métabolisme pour s'adapter à la raréfaction de l'eau en fin de réservoir.
