PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which, even if refraction is formed on a surface sheet in a worn condition, low projections are preferentially smashed and high projections on center are hardly smashed and in which excellent texture, liquid return prevention effect and permeability due to the projections are excellently maintained.SOLUTION: In a complex sheet 10 constructing a surface sheet, a first sheet 1 and a second sheet 2 are partially joined to form a plurality of joint parts 31 to 33, and the first sheet 1 projects in a direction away from the second sheet 2 at non-joint parts with the second sheet 2 to form a plurality of projections 40 projecting toward a skin side of a wearer. The projection 40 of the complex sheet 10 comprises: high projections 41 having hollow parts on its backside side and forming an apex of the projection 40 and the four low projections 42 formed on the periphery of the high projections 41 in a condition being connected to the high projections 41.
