Disclosed are epidithiodiketopiperazine compounds, pharmaceutical compositions based thereon and methods of treating, reducing or inhibiting transcription and translation of hypoxia-inducible genes. An embodiment of the present invention is directed to a method for interfering with hypoxia-induced transcriptional pathway.
