The present invention relates to a transgenic animal model for evaluating effects of functional foods in a normal metabolic state without diseases. Specifically, the present invention manufactures a transgenic animal into which a promoter of peroxisome-proliferator-activated receptor gamma co-activator-1 alpha (PGC-1&alpha) gene which plays pivotal role for energy metabolic regulatory and luciferase which is a reporter gene are inserted. The metabolic status of the transgenic mouse is confirmed to be similar to that of normal mouses. If the PGC-1&alpha promoter is expressed when anti-obesity functional foods/materials are treated for the transformed mouse, the luciferase connected to be consecutively operated is expressed and indirectly measures increase of PGC-1&alpha expression in order to confirm that the transgenic animal model is effective for evaluating effects of the functional foods/materials related to obesity and energy metabolism so that the transgenic animal can be effectively used for evaluating effects of anti-obesity functional foods/materials.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014본 발명은 질환이 없는 정상 대사 상태에서 기능성 식품의 효능을 평가하기 위한 형질전환동물에 관한 것이고, 구체적으로 에너지 대사 조절에 중추적인 역할을 하는 과산화소체 증식제-활성화 수용체-감마 보조인자-1알파(peroxisome-proliferator-activated receptor gamma co-activator-1 alpha, PGC-1α) 유전자의 프로모터와 리포터 유전자 루시퍼라아제가 삽입된 형질전환 생쥐를 제작하였으며, 상기 형질전환 생쥐의 대사 상태가 정상 생쥐와 유사한 것을 확인하였고, 항비만 기능성 식품/소재를 상기 형질전환 생쥐에 처리하였을 때, PGC-1α 프로모터가 발현하면 연이어 작동가능하도록 연결된 루시퍼라아제가 발현하는 것을 확인하여, PGC-1α의 발현 증가를 간접적으로 측정함으로써 비만과 에너지 대사와 관련된 기능성 식품/소재의 유효성 평가에 유용한 형질전환 동물모델인 것을 확인하였으므로, 이를 항비만 기능성 식품/소재의 유효성 평가에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.
