PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle-shaped body which is insoluble in water, is safe for a living body, and has sufficient hardness and appropriate plasticity without using cross-linking agents such as glutaraldehyde which is harmful to the living body and enzymes having restrictions on reaction conditions, and a method of manufacturing a needle-shaped body.SOLUTION: A needle-shaped body which includes projection parts on one surface of a base body contains at least water-soluble polymers and genipin as a cross-linking agent. A method of manufacturing a needle-shaped body includes: a step of providing a mold having recess parts formed of a recess-projection inverted pattern of a shape of the needle-shaped body a needle-shaped body material preparation step for preparing a needle-shaped body material containing the water-soluble polymers and the genipin as a cross-linking agent a filling step for filling the mold with the needle-shaped body material a cross-linking reaction step in which the needle-shaped body material filled in the mold is subjected to cross-linking reaction a drying step for drying the needle-shaped body material filled in the mold and a mold release step for releasing the mold from the needle-shaped body.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】生体に有害なグルタルアルデヒドや反応条件に制限のある酵素などの架橋剤を用いずに、水に不溶であり、生体に安全であり、かつ、十分な強度と適度な柔軟性を備える針状体および針状体の製造方法を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】基体の一方の面に突起部を備える針状体であって、少なくとも水溶性高分子と架橋剤としてゲニピンを含むことを特徴とする針状体とした。また、針状体形状の凹凸反転パターンからなる凹部を有する鋳型を用意する工程と、水溶性高分子と架橋剤としてゲニピンを含む針状体材料を調製する針状体材料調製工程と、前記鋳型に針状体材料を充填する充填工程と、前記鋳型に充填した前記針状体材料を架橋反応させる架橋反応工程と、前記鋳型に充填した前記針状体材料を乾燥させる乾燥工程と、針状体から前記鋳型を離型する離型工程とを備えることを特徴とする針状体の製造方法とした。【選択図】図1
