PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants-type article having excellent functions, such as flexibility and moisture permeability, being comfortable to wear, and having comfortable touch and good appearance, and also to provide a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION: The pants-type article includes an external packaging body having a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. The external package has two sheet materials jointed intermittently by jointing parts and a plurality of elastic members arranged between the sheet materials on the non-jointing parts and being elastic independent of the sheet materials. A plurality of folds opposing each other is formed on the sheet materials by the elastic members. The pairs of opposing folds maintain cylindrical holes within themselves to form a plurality of flute structures. On at least one end of the flute structure, bases of the opposing folds are jointed with each other to maintain almost circular opening ends. Such opening ends are arranged at least on the circumferencial edge of the waist opening or the leg openings.
