<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform sugar chain-containing albumin which functions as a medicine carrier for DDS targeting the liver (especially Kupffer cell) and retaining original structure and function. <;P>;SOLUTION: DNA encoding albumin is mutated so as to encode a variant albumin containing a partial amino acid sequence receiving sugar chain modification by a eukaryotic cell, preferably, a consensus sequence of an N-binding type sugar chain, and an expression vector containing the variant DNA is introduced into a host eukaryotic cell, preferably a host cell adding high mannose type sugar chain and the resultant transformant is cultured to give a cultured product and a sugar chain-containing albumin protein is recovered from the cultured product to provide a sugar chain-containing albumin as a medicine carrier for DDS targeting the liver (especially Kupffer cell). <;P>;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
