The present invention relates to an adjuvant comprising a compound represented by formula (I), which is a layered double hydroxide. Since the layered double hydroxide in the present invention is an inorganic ion conjugate selected from light metals, when an immune composition containing the adjuvant of the present invention is administered to a living body, side effects on the living body are considered to be low. In the layered double hydroxide, there are innumerable combinations of divalent cations, trivalent cations, and anions, so that it is possible to produce a layered double hydroxide according to the application.本発明は、層状複水酸化物であって、明細書中において一般式（Ｉ）で示す化合物からなるアジュバントに関する。本発明における層状複水酸化物は軽金属を選択した無機イオン結合体であるため、本発明のアジュバントを含む免疫組成物を生体に投与する場合には、生体への副作用は低いと考えられる。層状複水酸化物において、２価陽イオン、３価陽イオン、陰イオンの組み合わせは無数に存在するので用途に応じた層状複水酸化物の作製が可能である。
