1. A method for controlling the introduction of an invasive instrument using an ultrasound imaging system containing a sensor with a two-dimensional matrix transducer, the method comprising the steps of: placing the sensor on an acoustic window of the body; manipulating the sensor for ultrasonic visualization of the site of the invasive procedure in the body volume region; form and simultaneously display in real time many two-dimensional (2-dimensional) images of adjacent planes of the volume domain, while the images are displayed in spatial internationally, including at least one image of the site of the invasive procedure; inject the invasive instrument into the volumetric area along the path of introduction directed to the site of the invasive procedure; observe the course of introducing the tool in at least one two-dimensional image in real time, moreover, sections of the invasive instrument are represented on images of a plurality of spatially adjacent image planes when the introduction path is not aligned with one image plane. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of forming and simultaneously displaying further comprises the step of forming images of parallel adjacent image planes. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of forming and simultaneously displaying further comprises the step of generating images of differently inclined, disjoint image planes. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of forming and simultaneously displaying further comprises the step of generating images of adjacent squares1.
