The present invention relates to a device and a method for detecting a magnetic field, generated by a conductor, by discharging an electric field to detect a small metal remaining in a body of a patient for preventing a medical accident caused by not removing medical supplies like a needle. A first embodiment comprises: a frequency generator generating the electric field toward a target portion of the body of the patient by using a transmission antenna a detector receiving the magnetic field generated from the target portion due to the electric field via a receipt antenna and detecting a size and a phase difference of the received magnetic field a controller storing the size and the phase difference of the magnetic field at a portion without a conductor, detected by the detector, in the body of the patient as a basic value, and comparing the size and the phase difference of the magnetic field of the target portion detected by the detector with the basic value to determine whether the conductor exists at the target position and an output unit outputting a signal if the controller determines that the conductor exists at the target portion.
