According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method to design a dental prosthesis model identifies a dental model and a dental prosthesis model for a plurality of teeth, and determines an abutment axes of the identified dental model and the dental prosthesis model. Moreover, the method determines a shape of the dental prosthesis, into which the dental prosthesis model is to be inserted, in the dental model, and uses the shape and the abutment axis of the dental prosthesis to determine a shape of adjacent teeth neighboring to the dental prosthesis and a shape of an opposing tooth engaged with the dental prosthesis.
