Un tubo de goteo esta dispuesto dentro de la esterilla entre las superficies superior e inferior, este cuenta con un extremo abierto conectable a una fuente de agua, y una serie de emisores a lo largo de una longitud de la misma que permite que el agua salga del tubo de goteo y a traves de la superficie inferior de la esterilla. Las estacas pueden extenderse a traves de la esterilla y dirigir el agua hacia el suelo hacia las raices de la planta.
