The system of the present invention includes an instrument including a tube and one or more devices configured to improve patient comfort during intubation and to achieve proper tube placement in a patients body. Embodiments of the present invention include a device configured to enter a patients body in a collapsed state. In such embodiments, the device may achieve an erected state to facilitate positioning a tube into a patients body.
