PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost cultivation method for a plant of the genus Glycyrrhiza capable of easily retaining at least 0.5 cm of the roots and at least 2.5% of glycyrrhizin contents based on reference values adopted in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia in a short period without depending on weather.SOLUTION: A plant of the genus Glycyrrhiza is planted on a field in which a dry environment adapted to the plant of the genus Glycyrrhiza is created by controlling rainfall amount and percolation water of underground water or rainfall. The roots of the plant are wrought and bound by a wringing/binding mechanism in advance or in the process of growth, and the plant is continuously grown in this state on the field where the dry environment is created while stresses are continuously applied to the roots of the plant. As a result, the contents of medical properties of glycyrrhizin, etc. in the roots can be increased.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】天候に左右されず、短期間で日本薬局方の基準値の根部が0.5cm以上且つグリチルリチン含有量を2.5%以上にし易く、低コストのカンゾウ属植物の栽培方法を提供する。【解決手段】雨量及び地下水や降雨による浸透水をコントロールしてカンゾウ属植物に適合した乾燥環境を創出した畑に、カンゾウ属植物を植えてなり、このカンゾウ属植物の根部を予めもしくは生育の過程で絞り拘束機構による絞り拘束を施し、その状態でカンゾウ属植物の生育を乾燥環境創出畑にて継続して、根部にストレスを与え続けることで、根部にグリチルリチンなどの薬効成分含量を増加させ得て、上記課題を達成できる。【選択図】 図1
