PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container and a device which accurately and easily manage samples.SOLUTION: The housing container 10 of the present invention has a ring-shaped holding plate 15, and an opening of the holding plate 15 is narrower than an opening of a container body 11, and a part of the plate projects inside the container body 11. Because the projected portion restricts movement of a sample tube 50 in lateral directions, the sample tube 50 does not contact an individual management tag 20 adhered on the inner wall of the container body 11, which can prevent damage of the individual management tag 20. Further, the sample tube 50 is in a suspended state from the holding plate 15, and a position when the tube is housed in the container is maintained.
