PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking aid that becomes compact not only longitudinally but also vertically in a storage state, and is capable of being changed from the storage state to the usable state or conversely changed by an easy operation without performing a complicated operation.SOLUTION: A pair of supporting columns 8 extending vertically are provided respectively in a pair of side frames 4. Each of the pair of supporting columns 8 is made to comprise an inside cylindrical part 10 and an outside cylindrical part 12 having an equal length. Each of the pair of supporting columns 8 is made extensible between an extended state where most of the inside cylindrical part 10 is exposed and a retraction state where most of the inside cylindrical part 10 is stored in the outside cylindrical part 12.
