The passive orthopedic aid has a sensor arrangement provided for measuring parameters. A damper arrangement is a double acting hydraulic cylinder with two hydraulic chambers separated from each other by a piston. The hydraulic chambers are connected by two connecting pipes allowing a flow of hydraulic fluid in opposite directions, whose flow resistances are adjusted by controlling separately with a respective distinct adjusting unit. An independent claim is included for a method for controlling an orthopedic technical aid.
