[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a deodorizer and a deodorizer composition both having high performance of chemically adsorbing a malodor such as the odor of acetic acid and also having excellent processability. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a deodorant processed product, such as a deodorant fiber sheet and a deodorant resin molded article, which comprises the deodorizer spread on paper, a non-woven fabric, a fiber or the like and can exhibit excellent deodorizing performance. [Solution] The deodorizer is characterized by comprising transition alumina which has a diffraction peak for γ-AlOOH in a powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The transition alumina is preferably a compound represented by formula (1). (1) xNa2O·Al2O3·nH2O (wherein x represents a numeral value of 0.002 to 0.02； and n represents a numeral value of 0.03 to 0.3.)
