A method of calibrating an agricultural planter (10) configured to dispense seeds (11) is provided. The method comprises the step of detecting seeds (11) dispensed by a row unit (12) of the planter (10). The method further comprises sending a control signal to a control device (1500, 1600), said control device controlling the dispensing of seeds (11) by said row unit (12). A further step of measuring a time delay between the sending of said control signal and the detection of the dispensing of seeds (11) by said row unit (12) after sending said control signal is also provided.
