PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of properly reducing an influence from a defective pixel on a vicinity pixel during analog transmission regardless of a type of endoscope to obtain high quality image signals.SOLUTION: According to an endoscope system of the present invention, analog signal from an imager 11 of an endoscope 10 is transmitted through a signal line and A/D-converted, and then the converted image signal undergoes processing by a video processor 20. At this time, a defect correction part 21 of the video processor 20 acquires defective pixel information and transmission information from memories 14 to 16 of the endoscope 10 to obtain correction information from a correction factor memory 25 according to the acquired information. Then on the basis of the correction information the defect correction part corrects a deteriorated signal of a pixel adjacent to the defective pixel included in the image signals due to the analog transmission, and on the basis of the corrected signal of the pixel adjacent to the defective pixel interpolates the signal of the defective pixel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
