Perforations (5) allow a refrigerant to enter the tumbler (3) to freeze or chill the foodstuff. The freezer includes a cleaning device (7) with a plurality of projections (11). The projections (11) move in and out of or penetrate the perforations (5) as the tumbler (3) rotates to dislodge foodstuffs stuck in the perforations (5).
