Use of one or more volatile linear alkane and one or more liquid fatty ester of mono- or di carboxylic acid having 1-30C and mono alcohol having 1-30C in anhydrous medium, for the cosmetic treatment of keratin material such as hair, where the weight ratio of the volatile linear alkane to the liquid fatty acid is less than 5, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic composition comprising in an anhydrous medium, one or more volatile linear alkane, one or more liquid fatty ester of 1-30C mono or di carboxylic acid, and 1-30C mono-alcohol, where the weight ratio of volatile linear alkane to the liquid fatty ester is less than 5, one or more oil comprising vegetable oil and silicone oil.
