PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye fundus observation apparatus which can easily acquire more detailed information without making significant changes to conventional apparatuses.SOLUTION: The eye fundus observation apparatus has a first light source which emits light in the visible region, a second light source which emits light in the near infrared region, a first polarization filter device which polarizes the light from the second light source, and a photographing device which photographs the light from the first light source and the light from the second light source. Alternatively, the eye fundus observation apparatus has a light source which emits light in the visible region and in the near infrared region, a wavelength-selective filter which takes light in the visible region or light in the near infrared region from the light of the light source, a first polarization filter device which polarizes light, and a photographing device which photographs the light.
