PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and a method, for promotion of salivation and alleviation and therapy of xerostomia.SOLUTION: Provided are: a gel formed by mixing a citric acid solution in the range of 1.2 M to 3.6 M and preferably 1.8 M to 3.6 M and a monosodium glutamate solution in the range of 1.4 M to 3.8 M and preferably 1.6 M to 3.8 M and a food where the gel is admixed with a substance promoting salivation.
