An information processing apparatus includes a smile value measuring unit configured to measure a smile value of a user captured in a captured image； a smile level information storage unit configured to store smile level information that divides a range of smile values measurable by the smile value measuring unit into a plurality of smile value ranges and associates each of the smile value ranges with a corresponding smile level, a smile level converting unit configured to convert the smile value of the user captured in the captured image to a smile level of the user based on the smile value measured by the smile value measuring unit and the smile level information stored in the smile level information storage unit, and a smile level correcting unit configured to correct the smile level of the user converted by the smile level converting unit so that a smile level of a face image to be presented by a face image presenting unit is higher than the smile level of the user converted by the smile level converting unit.
