PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which solves a problem in supplementation of air with water for growing plants, which has never been discussed precisely in a conventional system for hydroponics, and supplies water for growing plants with air more uniformly, as disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention.SOLUTION: The hydroponic device of the present invention comprises: a tank for hydroponics storing water therein, in which roots of a plant in water are grown and a water repellent sand layer which contacts with the water, being made of a plurality of particles subjected to water repellent treatment. The hydroponic device has either of conditions where a part of the water repellent sand layer contacts with air or where the hydroponic device comprises a pump which supplies the water repellent sand layer with air.
