The invention concerns a device capable of performing an ionising radiation-based flash irradiation of all or part of a mammal to delay the effects of ageing and/or to increase the longevity of said mammal. The invention also relates to a method for delaying the effects of ageing and/or for increasing the longevity of a mammal, comprising the following steps: a) providing a device for the flash irradiation of all or part of a mammal according to the desired flash irradiation modality； and b) performing a flash irradiation of said mammal or said part according to the desired flash irradiation modality of step a).La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif capable d'effectuer une irradiation flash par rayonnement ionisant sur tout ou partie d'un mammifère pour retarder les effets du vieillissement et/ou pour augmenter la longévité dudit mammifère. L'invention a également pour objet un procédé pour retarder les effets du vieillissement et/ou pour augmenter la longévité d'un mammifère, comprenant les étapes suivantes : a) la mise à disposition d'un dispositif permettant l'irradiation flash de tout ou partie d'un mammifère selon la modalité d'irradiation flash souhaitée； et b) l'irradiation flash dudit mammifère ou de ladite partie selon la modalité d'irradiation flash souhaitée à l'étape a).
