PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source drive device and a light source drive method which enable sampling at proper timing without increasing the loads to the processor, etc., and also to provide a light source apparatus using the same.SOLUTION: A light source drive device according to one embodiment of the present technology comprises a reception unit, an output unit, a sampling unit, and a timing output unit. The reception unit receives a pulse modulation signal for pulse-driving a light source. The output unit outputs, to the light source, a delayed modulation signal obtained by delaying the received pulse modulation signal. The sampling unit samples, at a predetermined timing, the amount of light emitted by the light source driven on the basis of the delayed modulation signal.
