Powdered cannabis extracts and methods for obtaining powdered cannabisextracts are described. In an aspect, thepresent application describes a method of preparing a single-serve containerwhich may be configured for receipt in a single-servebrewing machine. The method may include obtaining the cannabis extract whichis processed to obtain powdered cannabis, in particularby encapsulation of the extract in sodium caseinate using freeze-drying. Thepowdered extract is added to the single-serve containerwhich may further include a flavoring agent, and the container is sealed.
