PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article improving safety feeling concerning leakage of body fluid which has a mark to allow an assistant who helps a wearer to more easily position the absorbent article for the wearer.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 100 has gathers 60 provided on the skin surface side, extending at least at a crotch area R3 in the longitudinal direction L. The gathers include a gather sheet 61 whose outside part in the width direction is structured to stand and a plurality of elastic members extending along the longitudinal direction. A first elastic member 62 or a virtual line obtained by extending the first elastic member in the longitudinal direction overlaps with an absorber 40 at a rear trunk area R2. The edge of the rear side of a contraction part 63 of the first elastic member is positioned behind the center CL of the absorbent article in the longitudinal direction and before a line L1 connecting both the edges of the front side of a fastening tape 94.
