A device for use in the disposal of a pharmaceutical composition, comprising: a substrate having a surface； an activated carbon layer present on the surface； adhesive for the stable association of the pharmaceutical composition with the activated carbon layer when applying the pharmaceutical composition to the activated carbon layer. 2. The device of claim 1, wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a tape or patch. The device according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the device further comprises a coating for at least partially coating the pharmaceutical composition when it is stably associated with an activated carbon layer. A device for use in the disposal of a pharmaceutical patch, comprising: a flat folding substrate containing a surface having first and second domains separated by a fold line； an adhesive layer present on the surface of the first domain； an activated carbon layer present on the surface of a second domain in which the activated carbon layer is sized to match the active agent layer of the pharmaceutical patch. 5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the activated carbon layer comprises activated carbon tissue. The device according to claim 5, wherein the activated carbon layer comprises a substrate material impregnated with activated carbon.
