The present invention relates to a neural stimulation system comprising: a lead that can be placed in a desired position in contact with neural tissue； one or more electrodes at the distal end of said lead, to apply electrical pulses to the targeted tissue region； and an implantable pulse generator coupled to said lead, supplying said electrical pulses； wherein said electrical pulses are a repeating succession of non-regular pulse trains, in which the interval between electrical pulses changes over time.
