The lifting device (2) comprises a vertically positioned or positionable column (3) that includes a vertically adjustable lifting cross-beam (4) and bars (5) which project from the lifting cross-beam (4), preferably in an orthogonal direction, and which support a mat, a cloth, a net or a plurality of straps acting as a holder for the animal.
