An equipment mounting system includes a quick mount track and a mount. The quick mount track comprises a backing plate, and the mount comprises a plurality of mounting studs and a locking pin. Formed in the surface of the backing plate are first and second outer slots and a number of locking pin apertures. The mount is operable to be removably coupled to the quick mount track by means of a locked position and a release position. The outer slots comprise a plurality of contoured target regions that are sized and spaced to engage with the mounting studs when the mount is in the unlocked position. The mount slides so that it is in the locked position, wherein the mounting studs are positioned over corresponding mounting points that are positioned within the outer slots, and the locking pin is engaged with a corresponding locking pin aperture.
