PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which permits the neutral point of a curving section to be reset in a curving condition.
SOLUTION: The endoscope includes a curving means for curving the curving section, an operating means for operating the curving means to curve the curving section, a driving means for curving the curving section by the curving means, a resetting means of the neutral point of the curving section, and a detecting means of a curving amount. In the endoscope, driving force at operating force of zero with a curving amount at the time point is detected in accordance with a reset instruction by the resetting means, and the curving section is held with a prescribed curving amount by the driving means with the driving force.
