PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a browning preventive agent further suppressing change of water color with time by browning compared to a conventional product for beverage, especially polyphenol-containing beverage.

SOLUTION: This new browning preventive agent has as an active ingredient cyclofructan as cyclic inulooligosaccharide composed by binding fructose molecules into a cyclic form with &beta-2,1 bonds. The agent can effectively hinder browning of beverage, especially polyphenol-containing beverage such as green tea beverage conspicuous in change of water color by browning. As a result of this, the browning preventive agent is free from the need of selecting a container unlike a conventional one, and has high generality widely appliable.
