The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting methyl mercury-induced neurotoxicity which contains gintonin-enriched fraction (GEF) as an active component, wherein the composition reduces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and promotes the removal of methyl mercury from plasma, brain, liver or kidney, thereby having an effect of inhibiting methyl mercury-induced neurotoxicity.본 발명은 GEF(gintonin-enriched fraction)를 유효성분으로 포함하는 메틸수은-유도의 신경독성 억제용 약학 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 상기 조성물은 ROS(reactive oxygen species)의 생산을 감소시키고, 혈장, 뇌, 간 또는 신장에서 메틸수은의 제거를 촉진시킴으로써 메틸수은-유도의 신경독성을 억제하는 효과가 있다.
